Born and raised in Dallas by Indian immigrants, Priya Krishna was raised on meals reminiscent of her Indian heritage but infused with American ingredients that made for a specific kind of fusion cuisine that she lovingly classifies as Indian-ish. As a food writer living in NYC in her 20s, Priya found herself nostalgic for her mother’s uniquely delicious and simple cooking. Inspired to catalog her mother’s recipes, Priya created Indian-ish; both a cookbook and an homage to her mother, filled with all of the recipes that her mother Ritu created after moving to the United States from India and teaching herself to cook.
"Not a lot of cookbooks pack as much personality and fun-plus these are guaranteed cookable, fantastic recipes." - Bon Appetit
