We’re hosting our very first tequila dinner at Georgia James on Cinco de Mayo! Penta Tequila—new to the Houston market—is owned by renowned wine producer Steve Reynolds, who will join us for the dinner to taste through the full line of tequilas (cristalino, reposado and añejo) and share details about their unique tequila production process. Underbelly Hospitality director of bars Westin Galleymore is eager to talk tequila with Steve during the dinner.
“It’s incredibly interesting to find a spirit that utilizes Steve's depth of wine making knowledge while also honoring the traditions of proper tequila production,” said Westin. “I can’t wait to introduce this tequila to our guests.”
Georgia James chef de cuisine Greg Peters is creating a three-course dinner to pair with the tequila—aguachile, grilled shrimp, carnitas in chile verde and Georgia James carne asada.

Purchase on Resy: A table for two $360 or a table for four $720

About Steve Reynolds
Returning from Napa one weekend, a fifteen-minute conversation was all it took for Steve Reynolds to sell his Central Valley dentist practice and move to Napa.
Reynolds’ jump into the wine business began in earnest in 1995 when an old chicken ranch on Silverado Trail became available. The first Reynolds Family wines were made in 1999 and were well-received so Steve decided it was time to make a business of it.
It wasn’t until 2015 when Steve Reynolds joined forces with four equally tequila-obsessed friends in Napa’s wine business with the goal of creating ultra-premium tequilas using winemaking techniques, not typically used in the tequila making process. What started as a celebratory toast to kick off each wine dinner by Reynolds grew into the passion to produce Penta Tequila to honor Mexico and its people.
Named for the Greek word for “five,” Penta Tequila is produced from 100% blue agave sourced from Mexico’s five legally protected designation of origin states for tequila production: Jalisco, Guanajuato, Michoacán, Nayarit, and Tamaulipas.
